Restaurant Apels Garten

Conclusion: better housewife cuisine, very outdated location, very nice and attentive service Unfortunately not recommended. We were there for dinner on Friday evening, the choice of restaurant was based on the good name that Leipzig residents have known for many years. Unfortunately this was a mistake. For a Friday evening, it was very empty. The starter was carpaccio, which was an absolute insult to what was actually a good starter. The supposed beef fillet was far too light and had absolutely no taste! It was floating in water, was it probably thawed convenience? For seasoning we were given salt and pepper and sunflower oil! And balsamic vinegar. I couldn't understand the salad arrangement with onions, olives and peppers that were cut too roughly. I didn't return it because I was there with my mom (birthday) and wanted to have a nice evening. To the main courses, summarized. Visually the plates looked quite good, technically there wasn't really anything wrong.... But unfortunately my pork cheeks weren't cooked well and the chef probably only knows spices and seasonings from books. The mashed potatoes could have been straight from the bag, no taste, no butter, not seasoned with nutmeg... Herbs, of course, absolutely non-existent. The only really good thing in this German one! Restaurant was the Asian duck. 😅 I can recommend them without reservation. In terms of price, far too expensive in relation to the quality! I swapped my vegetables for chanterelles, an extra charge of €10! In itself it would have been a good idea if they had dared to use herbs. The only real bright spot there was actually the waitresses. Very polite, always with the guest, very professional.

We celebrated a big birthday in the salon of Apels Garten. Everything was arranged very well and we were completely satisfied. The birthday menu was very tasty and the service was extremely attentive. All our wishes were fulfilled. A big thank you to the Apels Garten team for this successful birthday party. We would love to come back.
